Somerville Investigates Site visitors Cease Involving Former NFL Participant

SOMERVILLE (CBS) – A visitors cease escalated rapidly in Somerville. “I really feel like that’s an expertise each black man has with legislation enforcement,” stated Abner Logan.

Logan stated he was going to his mother’s cookout on the Fourth of July. His canine sat on his lap. He says that’s why the officer initially pulled him over.

He was driving on McGrath Freeway and Broadway when the officer flashed his lights. He stated he instantly seemed for a secure place to tug off. He turned on Pearl Road, a few quarter mile from the place the officer tried to tug him over. However that officer informed Logan it wasn’t quick sufficient.

Logan took video of the incident. He says he began recording when he seen the officer’s temper altering. One officer struck Logan’s window with a baton.

Regardless of being a former NFL linebacker and present professional bodybuilder, Logan has no downside admitting he was scared.

“He [the officer] sounds very nervous and that made me nervous as a result of current developments incidents like that occur and it finally ends up loads worse so I’m simply grateful it didn’t transpire to that,” Logan stated.

Somerville Mayor Joe Curtatone stated in an announcement: “I need to be clear, the Metropolis of Somerville doesn’t tolerate extreme drive or bias, or another inappropriate policing. We’re taking this matter very critically. It’s being completely investigated. As soon as we’ve all of the information, we are going to take each applicable motion to handle any recognized misconduct.”

Logan believes that investigation is an efficient first step.

“For now it’s a begin,” Logan stated. “You recognize too typically you see issues like this simply being swept underneath the rug.”
