BOSTON (CBS) – A lady tried to hold 4 knives onto a airplane at Boston’s Logan Airport by hiding them in her knee brace Wednesday, the TSA stated.
The company stated the British citizen who was set to board a flight to Paris arrived at safety in a wheelchair and put her knee brace on a checkpoint conveyor belt.
A TSA officer noticed “knife-like” objects on the X-ray monitor.
“When the TSA officers requested the girl what was contained in the knee brace, she laughed,” the TSA stated in an announcement. “Upon nearer inspection, TSA officers uncovered 4 desk knives artfully hid within the neoprene-style knee brace.”
Authorities confiscated the knives, and the London resident was denied boarding. Massachusetts State Police and the airline have been notified of the incident.
“I can guarantee you that making an attempt to artfully conceal any kind of weapon in an effort to get it onto an airplane is not any laughing matter,” stated Robert Allison, TSA’s federal safety director for Massachusetts, in an announcement.
